Our technology is used in the Rhine-Ruhr Express (RRX) as well as in many other railway vehicles in Europe.
Mitsubishi Electric is not only one of the market leaders providing air-conditioning systems for railways in the Japanese market, but is also delivering air-conditioning systems for RRX (328 air-conditioning systems for the total of 164 center coaches in 82 train units). The RRX runs superbly – with our air-conditioning technology.
Mitsubishi Electric began its history of supplying India’s metro markets when it delivered propulsion equipment for the Delhi Metro Phase I Project in 2001. The energy-saving performance and high quality and reliability of Mitsubishi Electric equipment has led to continuous orders from major metro systems in India for the past 19 years. We have sold propulsion equipment for more than 3,000 railcars in India’s metro markets.
Nederlandse Spoorwegen has equipped 206 trains with the traction equipment of Mitsubishi Electric. Benefits of our equipment are the reduced equipment footprint and regenerative breaking. Our traction equipment helps to ensure stable and safe operation of the trains.
The radio equipment will be used in what is believed to be Japan’s first communication-based train control system (CBTC) for subways. Our delivery includes wayside radio equipment for a branch of Tokyo Metro’s Marunouchi Line between Nakano-sakaue and Honancho stations and on-board radio equipment for a train that will be operated on the line for verification purposes.
We are the first Japanese company* which supplies the French National Railways (SNCF) with prototype traction transformers for the Z2N commuter train operating in Paris and its suburbs and T4 tram trains also operating in the Parisian suburbs.
